Awesomely Bad Hathaway & Franco

The dream team will co-host the Oscars this weekend, but their careers weren't always so red-hot

Anne Hathaway and James Franco are hosting the Oscars this weekend, and both young actors have been called the best of the best. Franco's up for a trophy in the Best Actor category for his role in the critically acclaimed 127 Hours, and Hathaway has been nominated previously for Rachel Getting Married.
But, when it comes to picking movies and other roles, Hathaway and Franco don't always have dead-on judgment. Below are some clips that they would probably love to strike off their resumes.
James Franco in General Hospital
Is it performance art? A cruel and unusual joke? Who knows, but James Franco's recent stint on the ABC soap isn't his best work. Check out a clip here:

Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars
Fans raised an eyebrow when Anne Hathaway followed up the award-winningRachel Getting Married with another wedding movie -- Bride Wars. The superficial comedy about two best friends who accidentally book their weddings for the same day, and then try to sabotage each other, was a critical and commercial failure.

James Franco in Finishing the Game: The Search for a New Bruce Lee
You've probably never heard of this 2007 flick, and that's a good thing. In it, Franco played the star of a '70's dramatic TV show called Golden Gate Guns -- and everything from his hair to his acting was just all wrong.

Anne Hathaway in Havoc
In an attempt to shed her good girl image after starring in Princess Diaries, Anne chose this script about privileged girls who take a walk on the wrong side of the tracks. Drugs, street brawling and lots of promiscuous behavior ensue. Here's the trailer:

James Franco in Whatever It Takes
James is a hit with the ladies now, but he played a gawky teen in this 2001 comedy. Even when he takes off his shirt (and shows off his thong), it's hard to see evidence of the heartthrob he eventually became.

Anne Hathaway in Get Real
We searched long and hard to unearth what may be Anne's first ever role -- a Fox comedy called Get Real. The series only lasted one season, and that was probably a good thing for Hathaway since she was free to explore other roles.
